A friend called me today.
He wants to learn cybersecurity and “make money.”
Before even starting, he asked
– Do I need a degree?
– How long will it take?
– Who will guide me?
– Is it guaranteed?
Then he paused and said,
“Maybe I should switch to something else.”
Switching before even starting.
Here’s the thing.
He didn’t quit because it’s hard.
He quit because it’s uncertain.
Most people don’t fear effort.
They fear walking a path that isn’t pre-validated.
They want guarantees before they move.
Proof before action.
Certainty before commitment.
But uncertainty is the entry fee.
Gym. Writing. Business. Skills.
Whatever you choose.
Uncertainty doesn’t disappear first.
It stays.
You don’t remove it by thinking.
You remove it by starting.
Not every lion that chases a deer eats.
But every lion that eats has chased.
That’s the trade.
