Austin Kleon author of Steal Like an Artist and Show Your Work says something most creatives ignore:
Don’t just share your work.
Share your interests, influences, and inspirations too.
Austin wants you to STOP hoarding ideas and instead share the things that spark your curiosity: the books, ads, designs, music, and experiences that inspire you.
You can share:
• The books you love
• The music or podcasts you listen to
• Ads or brands that inspire you
• Notes and quotes that spark ideas
• Your personal collection of inspiration
Now imagine sharing ideas without fear. No second-guessing, No perfectionism.
Suddenly…
You embrace the messy work.
You see failure as progress.
You develop a growth mindset.
Jonathan Lethem says he isn’t just a writer, he's a curator.
(Someone who collects and shares the best things he finds just like me 😉)
Because the more you consume, the more you can create.
And don’t feel bad about sharing things made by others just give credit.
Even “guilty pleasures” matter.
When you share the weird, funny, and unpopular stuff you love, people connect with the real you.
Always mention or link the creator. That’s attribution.
It shows respect and helps others discover more great creators.
If you want to become more creative:
Collect & Create.
See you soon,
